The goal of teaching the discipline – The purpose of studying this course is to form a systematic theoretical knowledge base and practical skills among master's students regarding the development of the global agricultural business, the regularities of the distribution of productive forces in agriculture, their country-specific and territorial localization. The specialization also involves revealing the experience and skills to increase the efficiency of innovative business forms in the agricultural sector of the international economy. The content includes the essence of agribusiness, its goals and objectives, prospects for development, state support for entrepreneurship, the legal foundations of agribusiness, resources used for production and their efficient utilization, organization of labor activity in agribusiness, risks in agribusiness, access to information and communication in agribusiness management.

 

What is studied in the program?

  • Studying the essence, content, regularities of development, and trends in global agribusiness, international food systems, and global agro-industrial markets.
  • Presenting the most important issues of the course using examples from developed countries, developing professional thinking for establishing global economic ties in the agri-food sector.
  • Analyzing the best foreign practices in production relations and international agribusiness.
  • Defining the main areas of economic integration and forms of international economic and scientific-technical cooperation in the agro-industrial complex (AIC).
  • Using statistical data, relevant methods and approaches to analyze processes occurring in the international and domestic agro-industrial complexes.
  • Organizing production in accordance with market economy requirements, developing scientific and research skills, acquiring new knowledge, and applying it practically for the effective activities of economic entities in the AIC.
  • Scientifically substantiating organizational and production systems in the AIC, clarifying the laws and principles of management, functions, methods of management in the AIC, and new methods of organizing production. The course aims to form practical skills in managing agribusiness, its functions, methods, laws, and principles.

  • The role of agriculture in the economy of developed and developing countries.
  • The composition of agricultural enterprises and the agro-industrial complex, the technological level of key industries, productivity, sustainability, and efficiency.
  • Land resources and the level of their use in agriculture. The area, composition of agricultural land, and land availability per capita.
  • Major forms of land ownership and land use.
  • Water resources in agriculture.
  • Modernizing the material and technical base of agriculture and its production-economic characteristics.
  • The impact of the scientific and technological revolution on the development of agriculture.
  • Major directions and features of scientific and technological development in countries with varying levels of economic development.
  • Labor resources in agriculture, changes in the social structure of modern rural areas, and the status of workers employed in agriculture.

    Requirements for Candidates:

    • Higher education and at least three years of general work experience;
    • Up to 45 years of age (age restriction applies only to full-time study).

     

    Admission Procedure:

    • Interview (based on specialization and general work experience);
    • DTM tests (specialization and English language).

     

    English Language Privileges:

    • B2 level according to CEFR;
    • IELTS score of 5.0;
    • At least 72 points in TOEFL.

     

    Required Documents:

    Candidates wishing to apply for the master's program must submit an application to the Director of the Graduate School of Business through the official website, attaching copies of the following documents:

    1. Recommendation letter signed by heads of government bodies, enterprises, NGOs, or business entities;
    2. Copy of the higher education diploma;
    3. Colored photo (size: 4x6);
    4. Passport (original to be presented during the exam);
    5. Work book (PDF or JPG copy from my.gov.uz);
    6. Certificate confirming English proficiency (if available).
