List of Documents Required for Admission to the Basic Doctoral Programme (PhD)

• Personal information sheet;
• Copy of a Master’s degree diploma or higher education diploma (in the relevant field of study);
• Certificate of foreign language proficiency (minimum B2);
• Copies of published scientific works.

Recipients of the State Scholarship of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan shall provide a copy of the relevant supporting document.

Note:

Applicants to the Basic Doctoral Programme (PhD) must have:

• a Master’s degree diploma or a higher education diploma (in the relevant field of study);
• scientific results, including at least one article published in a scientific journal and at least two conference papers/abstracts published in proceedings of scientific conferences or collections of scientific works in the relevant fields, which may serve as the basis for a dissertation research project for the Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree.

Applicants for admission to the Basic Doctoral Programme shall take entrance examinations in their field of specialization.

Recipients of the State Scholarship of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan are admitted to the Basic Doctoral Programme without examinations.

In case of equal final scores among applicants for admission to the Basic Doctoral Programme, preference shall be given to applicants who:

• hold a Master’s degree with honors;
• hold copyright certificates and patents;
• have a greater number of scientific articles published in academic journals, including international journals.

List of Documents Required for Admission to the Doctoral Programme (DSc)

• Personal information sheet;
• Copy of a higher education diploma, Candidate of Sciences degree, Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree, or other equivalent academic degree obtained abroad;
• Certificate of foreign language proficiency (minimum B2);
• List of published scientific works and copies thereof;
• Scientific report on the research topic and a detailed draft dissertation plan for the Doctor of Sciences (DSc) degree.

Note:

Applicants to the Doctoral Programme (DSc) must:

• hold a Candidate of Sciences degree, Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree, or another academic degree obtained abroad and recognized as equivalent;
• have achieved significant scientific results after obtaining the Candidate of Sciences or Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree, or an equivalent academic degree obtained abroad, including at least three scientific articles published in academic journals and at least two conference papers/abstracts in proceedings of scientific and practical conferences, seminars, and other collections of scientific works in the relevant fields, which may serve as the basis for dissertation research for the Doctor of Sciences (DSc) degree.

Applicants for admission to the Doctoral Programme shall undergo a specialization interview conducted by the Admissions Committee.

In case of equal final scores among applicants for admission to the Doctoral Programme based on the results of the interview, preference shall be given to applicants who:

• have more than 5 years of scientific and pedagogical experience;
• hold copyright certificates and patents;
• have monographs (for social sciences and humanities) and a greater number of scientific articles, compared to other applicants, on the applicant’s dissertation topic published in relevant academic journals, including international journals;
• have completed more than 50% of the dissertation research.

List of Documents Required for Independent Researcher Programmes (PhD, DSc)

• Personal information sheet;
• Copy of a Master’s degree diploma or higher education diploma (in the relevant field of study) — for registration as an independent researcher for the Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree;
• Copy of a Candidate of Sciences diploma or Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) diploma, or another equivalent academic degree obtained abroad — for registration as an independent researcher for the Doctor of Sciences (DSc) degree;
• Copies of scientific publications.

Note:

Persons applying for the Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree as independent researchers must:

• hold a Master’s degree diploma or higher education diploma (in the relevant field of study);
• have relevant scientific publications;
• have at least two years of scientific and pedagogical work experience or certain scientific achievements (inventions protected by patents or copyright certificates).

Persons applying for the Doctor of Sciences (DSc) degree as independent researchers must hold a Candidate of Sciences degree or Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree, or another equivalent academic degree obtained abroad, and have achieved significant scientific results after obtaining the relevant academic degree in accordance with the established requirements.
