General information
The Department of "Business Management and Entrepreneurship (MBA)" at the Graduate School of Business and Entrepreneurship under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan was established on April 13, 2023. The Regulation of the Department outlines its legal status, objectives, tasks, rights and obligations, organizational structure, as well as the rights, responsibilities, and accountability of the department's staff.
The department holds the status of a core structural unit of the Graduate School and is responsible for preparing master's degree students in the fields of "Finance", "Global Management", "Small Business and Entrepreneurship", "Digital Economy", and "Agro-business", as well as for training highly qualified scientific and pedagogical personnel. The department also coordinates activities with other divisions of the Graduate School (including departments and branches), personnel customers, and other stakeholders in accordance with the procedures established by law.

Goals and objectives of the department
The activities of the department cover a range of academic, methodological, research, innovative development, organizational, and educational activities, in accordance with the annual and long-term plans. These plans are discussed in department meetings and decisions are made based on the discussions.
The personal work plans of professors and staff are considered the primary documents for assessing their performance, covering educational, methodological, scientific, organizational, and educational tasks.
During the selection process for positions and promotions, the degree to which personal work plans are fulfilled and their rating are major criteria.
The department’s primary goal is to prepare highly competitive specialists who meet the evolving demands of the international and national economies, providing quality knowledge, practical skills, and qualifications, all while contributing to the prestige and international ranking of Uzbekistan and the Graduate School.
The key task of the department is to conduct educational, methodological, scientific research, and innovative activities related to its areas of expertise, while actively participating in the implementation of national socio-economic development programs, scientific research, and innovation projects.

Subjects taught at the department
The department holds the status of a core structural unit of the Graduate School, and it is responsible for preparing master's students in the fields of “Business Management and Entrepreneurship (MBA)” in the areas of “Global Management”, “Finance”, “Small Business and Entrepreneurship”, and “Agro-business”. It also trains highly qualified scientific and pedagogical staff. The department works in cooperation with other divisions of the Graduate School (including departments and branches), personnel customers, and other stakeholders, following the procedures established by law.
The department includes professors and associate professors, as well as attached doctoral candidates (DSs), PhD students, independent researchers, scientific staff, and interns.
The weekly working hours for professors and teachers do not exceed 36 hours (5 days per week).
Professors and teachers carry out their research and educational activities based on their personal work plans, which are developed according to the nature and content of their scholarly and pedagogical work. These activities can be conducted without interruption from their primary workplace.
Professors and teachers conduct their lessons in classrooms as outlined in the academic schedule, or in an online format.
The department may have teaching and research rooms, scientific seminar spaces, and other structural subdivisions that support the educational and research process. The department may also have a regular scientific seminar for ongoing academic discussions.
In cooperation with external stakeholders, the department has the opportunity to establish branches, joint creative teams, and innovation centers on a contractual basis. These establishments can utilize specialists and the material-technical base of the organizations involved.

Activity Evaluation
The activities of the department are regularly reviewed by a special commission established by the director of the Graduate School. This commission evaluates the department’s performance at the end of the academic year or, if necessary, during the academic year. The department's ranking is based on the ratings of the professors and staff working within the department.
The rating of the department, its head, and professors is determined by the director of the Graduate School, based on the commission’s findings. In the case of the department head’s performance, the director presents the results to the Graduate School's Scientific Council for discussion, and appropriate measures are taken.
Professors and associate professors are evaluated and rated by the department head at the end of the academic year or, if necessary, during the academic year. The rating is based on assessments from both the department head and the students.
The department head is the person responsible for the overall functioning of the department. The department head carries out their duties in accordance with the department’s regulations and job description.
The department head organizes and coordinates the activities of the staff to ensure effective functioning.
