E-commerce Expands Market Access for Producers in Andijan Region

Andijan region has more than 23,400 active businesses. Over 5,000 small businesses operate in the industrial sector, and the number of artisans has reached 2,193. The share of entrepreneurs in manufacturing continues to grow each year. These figures show that a significant number of producers and artisans in the region are interested in reaching wider markets.
On 15 October 2026, a practical seminar titled “Opportunities for Supporting Small and Medium-Sized Businesses in Uzbekistan through E-commerce” was held in Andijan in cooperation between the Graduate School of Business and Entrepreneurship, the Andijan Regional Administration and the international e-commerce platform Wildberries. The seminar brought together more than 130 participants, including entrepreneurs, women and young people in business, artisans and representatives of government organizations.
Wildberries specialists gave a presentation on the platform’s advantages and the opportunities it offers. For a small producer, a marketplace is in effect a ready-made sales infrastructure. Producers do not need to set up their own warehouses, delivery services or payment systems, as these are provided by the platform. This is especially important for artisans and small enterprises without a distribution network of their own.
This business model also influences producers’ income. Producers who sell to buyers outside the region without intermediaries retain a larger share of the value added. In addition, the growth of e-commerce raises demand for logistics and warehousing services in the region.
The Graduate School of Business and Entrepreneurship holds such seminars in the regions to improve entrepreneurs’ digital literacy and build their capacity to use e-commerce tools effectively.
The seminar concluded with an agreement on the next stage of work with entrepreneurs. This stage will focus on identifying businesses ready to sell on marketplaces, examining their products and helping them get started with online sales.
