On 12 October 2026, the Graduate School of Business and Entrepreneurship under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan, in cooperation with the National Association of Non-Governmental Non-Profit Organizations (NGOs) of Uzbekistan, held the opening ceremony of another professional development course for NGO representatives entitled “Social Impact and Non-Profit Organization Management.”

The course is being implemented as part of the 2026 State Programme for the Implementation of the “Uzbekistan – 2030” Strategy. It aims to strengthen the organizational and managerial capacity of civil society institutions, enhance the professional qualifications of NGO leaders and specialists, and expand their participation in addressing socially significant issues.

The course forms part of the Graduate School of Business and Entrepreneurship’s ongoing systematic efforts to develop the human resource capacity of the non-profit sector. The first stage of the training took place in April this year. The launch of the new cohort demonstrates the consistent nature of these efforts and the practical implementation of the State Programme's objectives related to supporting and developing civil society institutions.

The opening ceremony was attended by the leadership of the Graduate School of Business and Entrepreneurship, representatives of the chambers of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the General Prosecutor's Office, relevant government bodies, the National Association of Non-Governmental Non-Profit Organizations of Uzbekistan and civil society institutions.

During the event, participants discussed the further development of the non-governmental non-profit sector, strengthening cooperation between government bodies and civil society institutions, supporting public initiatives and improving the effectiveness of NGNPO operations. Particular attention was given to the importance of systematically training leaders and specialists equipped with up-to-date knowledge and practical management skills for non-profit organizations.

Approximately 40 representatives of non-governmental non-profit organizations are participating in this cohort, with training scheduled to run from 12 to 16 October. The five-day programme covers the legal framework governing NGNPO activities, institutional development, project management, financial sustainability, resource mobilization, human resource management, strategic communications and the application of modern digital technologies.

Following the opening ceremony, the first training sessions were held, focusing on the legal and institutional foundations of non-governmental non-profit organizations. Participants examined current legislation, contemporary NGNPO management models, strategic planning, procedures for attracting funds and property from external sources, event organization and reporting requirements.

The first day's programme also includes an open dialogue with representatives of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Uzbekistan. The session is intended to address current issues concerning the legal regulation and practical operations of non-profit organizations.

The course brings together specialists from government bodies and research and analytical institutions, faculty members of the Graduate School of Business and experts in civil society development. This format combines academic instruction with practical experience and provides participants with opportunities for direct engagement with representatives of relevant government agencies.

The continued implementation of such educational programmes is intended to strengthen the organizational and managerial sustainability of NGNPOs, improve the quality of social projects, and expand the participation of civil society institutions in community development, support for public initiatives and efforts to improve the well-being of the population.

The launch of this latest course under the State Programme reaffirms the practical focus of the Graduate School of Business and Entrepreneurship's efforts to develop the professional capacity of the non-governmental non-profit sector and strengthen partnerships between the state and civil society institutions.
