On 6 October 2026, a practical seminar on e-commerce and export opportunities was organized in Urgench in cooperation between the Graduate School of Business and Entrepreneurship, the Khorezm Regional Administration and the Wildberries e-commerce platform. The event was attended by more than 150 entrepreneurs, artisans, young people and women.

Today, e-commerce is becoming an important tool for small businesses and private entrepreneurs to reach new customers, promote their products widely and expand their sales to new areas. Marketplaces offer new opportunities especially to small producers in the regions who have limited access to large retail chains.

Khorezm region also has distinctive production and handicraft potential. Many businesses in the region work in textiles and garment making, the food industry, agricultural processing, national handicrafts, wood carving, pottery, carpet weaving, and the production of national clothing and souvenirs.

In addition, Khorezm’s rich historical and cultural heritage and its tourism potential create great opportunities to increase demand for local national products. National souvenirs, handmade items, national clothing, jewelry and handicraft products made in Khiva and Urgench can be offered not only to local buyers but also to consumers in other regions of the country and abroad.

However, the products of some small producers and artisans are still sold mainly through local markets, fairs or intermediaries. As a result, producers do not fully know who the end buyers of their products are and cannot quickly assess market demand.

E-commerce helps to reduce these problems. Entrepreneurs can offer their products online to buyers in different regions, track demand, analyze sales volumes and shape their product range according to market needs.

During the event, the attention of Khorezm entrepreneurs was drawn to these particular aspects. Participants were briefed on ways to bring local products to e-commerce platforms, set up an online store, provide complete and attractive product information, use high-quality photos and videos, and work with customers online.

Entrepreneurs also gained practical knowledge of delivering products to marketplace warehouses or shipping orders from their own warehouses, organizing logistics, analyzing sales results and improving the product range based on customer demand.

At the end of the practical seminar, agreements were reached on working with entrepreneurs at the next stage, selecting businesses ready to enter e-commerce, studying their products and providing practical support in starting sales on marketplaces.
