Today, economic efficiency is becoming an important factor in the competitiveness of enterprises in the market for goods and services. At the same time, the ability of manufacturing enterprises to compete in the market depends not only on modern equipment and raw materials but increasingly on how efficiently the production process itself is organized.

Lean production provides manufacturing enterprises with the necessary tools to improve production processes, identify and eliminate hidden waste, shorten order lead times and reduce unnecessary costs without major investment. This is why the lean production system has become the basis of management at the world's leading industrial companies.

In order to introduce the lean production system at Uzbek enterprises, the Graduate School of Business and Entrepreneurship, together with the German Senior Expert Service (SES), started a program for training trainers and consultants in the methods of the Lean Production System of continuous improvement on 6 October 2026.

The seminar is conducted by foreign expert Dr. Felix Fremerey from Germany and is attended by 25 professors, lecturers and staff members of the Graduate School, as well as representatives of its regional branches.

The one-week seminar program covers key lean production tools, including the principles of the Toyota Production System (TPS), value stream mapping (VSM), identification and elimination of different types of waste in production, the 5S workplace organization system, and the introduction of standardized work and Kaizen continuous improvement principles.

The sessions were based on case studies and practical exercises in which participants applied lean production tools to specific production situations.

Lean production offers special opportunities for small and medium-sized enterprises in Uzbekistan. With limited resources, increasing productivity by optimizing production processes and introducing lean production tools is often more affordable than buying new equipment or using more expensive raw materials and supplies. The introduction of lean production helps local enterprises reduce production costs, improve product quality and strengthen their positions in domestic and foreign markets.

The seminar is the first stage of the expert's work in Uzbekistan. From 12 to 16 October, the training will continue at small industrial zones in Fergana region, where lean production methods will be practiced directly at production sites.
