А seminar was held in Margilan dedicated to the development of e-commerce and to expanding opportunities for small and medium-sized businesses through the active use of international online platforms.

The event was organized by the Graduate School of Business and Entrepreneurship, together with the international platform “Wildberries” and the local administration of Margilan city.

The key goal of the seminar was to help local producers and artisans master digital sales channels and turn e-commerce into a real tool for exports.

The seminar was opened with a welcoming address by the First Deputy Khokim of Margilan city. The event was also attended by specialists of the Graduate School of Business and Entrepreneurship and representatives of “Wildberries.”

The audience consisted of 50 entrepreneurs, including artisans, owners of small and medium-sized businesses, trading companies, and producers.

The participants focused on a practical question how a local producer can bring their products beyond the region and into foreign countries. The experts stressed that for Margilan, with its rich craft traditions and well-developed textile production, digital platforms open a direct path to customers in other countries bypassing intermediaries and removing some of the logistical barriers.

A clear confirmation of these opportunities came from the results of Uzbek entrepreneurs on the platform.

By the end of 2025, the sales volume of goods from Uzbekistan reached 186.3 billion soums, the number of sellers grew by 109%, and the range of products offered increased by 186%.

The most in-demand export categories were beauty products, books, textiles, home goods, and household appliances categories in which Margilan producers have significant and largely untapped potential.

The practical part of the seminar took place in the form of an open dialogue and training sessions, during which entrepreneurs, together with “Wildberries” experts, went through the specific steps for registering and running an online store.

The event concluded with a visit to artisan workshops and production facilities in Margilan, which made it possible to assess on-site the readiness of local products to enter international trading platforms.
