On September 16, 2026, the Tashkent Regional Branch of the Graduate School of Business and Entrepreneurship, in cooperation with the Tashkent Regional Hokimiyat, held an educational and practical seminar titled “Opportunities for Supporting Small and Medium-Sized Businesses and Enhancing Export Potential through E-Commerce in Uzbekistan.” The event brought together more than 200 representatives of small and medium-sized businesses operating in the region.

The main objective of the event was to introduce entrepreneurs to modern e-commerce tools, enhance their practical skills in bringing products to online marketplaces, and expand opportunities for local products to enter new markets.

Tashkent Region is one of the major industrial regions of the Republic of Uzbekistan. In January-June 2026, the region produced more than UZS 100 trillion worth of industrial products.

During the same period, small businesses produced UZS 25.3 trillion worth of industrial products. This demonstrates the significant contribution of small businesses to the region’s industrial sector.

Small businesses also play a significant role in domestic trade. In the first half of 2026, the retail trade turnover of small business entities amounted to UZS 18.43 trillion.

These figures demonstrate the substantial production and trade potential of Tashkent Region, while also highlighting the need to make more effective use of this potential through digital sales channels.

During the seminar, entrepreneurs received practical information on:

  • organizing sales through online marketplaces;
  • working as a seller on e-commerce platforms;
  • preparing products for online sales;
  • creating effective product listings;
  • preparing high-quality photos and product descriptions;
  • pricing and analyzing the competitive environment;
  • using customer reviews and ratings;
  • attracting customers through digital advertising and social media;
  • analyzing sales performance;

entering new regional and international markets through e-commerce.

Particular attention was paid to the practical aspects of organizing online sales using an e-commerce platform as an example.

The key idea of the event was to make products manufactured in Tashkent Region more accessible to a wider range of consumers through modern digital sales channels.

In this regard, it is important to establish the following chain:

Product manufacturing → Listing on an online platform → Attracting new customers → Entering new markets → Expanding export opportunities.

There are particularly strong opportunities to sell food products, textiles and clothing, furniture, construction materials, household goods, chemical industry products, and other goods manufactured in the region through e-commerce platforms.

The organization of this seminar by the Tashkent Regional Branch of the Graduate School of Business and Entrepreneurship is aligned with the branch’s objectives of developing the entrepreneurial environment, applying modern knowledge in practice, and promoting practical solutions that address the real needs of the regional economy.
