List of documents required for admission to basic doctoral studies (PhD):

• Personal information form;
• Copy of a master’s degree diploma or a higher education diploma (in the relevant specialty);
• Foreign language proficiency certificate (minimum level B2);
• Copies of published scientific works.

Recipients of the State Scholarship of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan must submit a copy of the relevant document.

Note: Admission to basic doctoral studies (PhD) is open to applicants who have:

• a master’s degree diploma or a higher education diploma (in the relevant specialty);
• scientific results, including at least one article published in a scientific journal and at least two conference abstracts published in collections of scientific papers in the relevant scientific fields, which may form the basis of a dissertation research project for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD).

Applicants seeking admission to basic doctoral studies are required to take entrance examinations in their specialty.

Entrance examinations for basic doctoral studies are held annually from November 1 to November 25.

The selection of applicants for basic doctoral studies is carried out by the Admissions Committee based on the results of the entrance examinations and the allocated quota, by November 30.

Recipients of the State Scholarship of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan are admitted to basic doctoral studies without examinations.

In the event that several applicants receive equal final scores in the entrance examinations for basic doctoral studies, preference is given to applicants who:

• have a master’s degree diploma with honors;
• hold certificates of authorship and patents;
• have a greater number of scientific articles published in journals, including international journals.

The quota for basic doctoral studies is 8 places.

List of documents required for admission to doctoral studies (DSc):

• Personal information form;
• Copy of a higher education diploma, Candidate of Sciences degree, or Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree, or other academic degrees obtained abroad that are recognized as equivalent;
• Foreign language proficiency certificate (minimum level B2);
• List of published scientific works and copies thereof;
• A scientific report on the research topic and a detailed draft dissertation plan for the degree of Doctor of Science (DSc).

Note: Admission to doctoral studies (DSc) is open to applicants who:

• hold a Candidate of Sciences degree, Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree, or other academic degrees obtained abroad that are recognized as equivalent;
• have achieved significant scientific results after obtaining a Candidate of Sciences or Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree, or other equivalent academic degrees obtained abroad, including at least three scientific articles published in scientific journals and at least two conference abstracts published in collections of scientific and practical conferences, seminars, and other scientific publications in the relevant scientific fields, which may form the basis of a dissertation research project for the degree of Doctor of Science (DSc).

Applicants seeking admission to doctoral studies are required to undergo a specialty interview conducted by the Admissions Committee.

Interviews for doctoral studies are held annually from November 1 to November 25.

The selection of applicants for doctoral studies is carried out by the Admissions Committee based on the results of the interview by November 30.

In the event that several applicants receive equal final scores based on the results of the interview for doctoral studies, preference is given to applicants who:

• have more than 5 years of research and teaching experience;
• hold certificates of authorship and patents;
• have monographs (for social sciences and humanities) or a greater number of scientific articles, compared to other applicants, on the applicant’s dissertation topic, published in relevant scientific journals, including international journals;
• have completed more than 50 percent of the dissertation research.

The quota for doctoral studies is 4 places.

List of documents required for admission as an independent researcher (PhD, DSc):

• Personal information form;
• Copy of a master’s degree diploma or a higher education diploma (in the relevant specialty) — for registration as an independent researcher for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD);
• Copy of a Candidate of Sciences diploma or Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) diploma, or other academic degrees obtained abroad that are recognized as equivalent — for registration as an independent researcher for the degree of Doctor of Science (DSc);
• Copies of scientific works.

Note: Individuals may be registered as independent researchers for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) if they:

• hold a master’s degree diploma or a higher education diploma (in the relevant specialties);
• have certain scientific publications;
• have at least two years of research and teaching experience or certain scientific achievements (inventions covered by patents or certificates of authorship).

Individuals may be registered as independent researchers for the degree of Doctor of Science (DSc) if they hold a Candidate of Sciences or Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree, or other academic degrees obtained abroad that are recognized as equivalent, and have achieved significant scientific results after obtaining their academic degree in accordance with the established requirements.

The selection of applicants for independent researcher programs is carried out by the Admissions Committee based on the results of an interview by November 30.
