The Graduate School of Business and Entrepreneurship under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan (GSBE) and the World Bank Country Office in Uzbekistan are building a partnership in research and analysis for economic policy. The partnership rests on a shared belief that high-quality research and analysis are needed to inform economic reforms and development strategies.

The partnership aims to generate, share and apply knowledge that helps address Uzbekistan’s socio-economic challenges and supports sustainable growth. The main areas of joint work are:

  • Seminars and presentations by leading international scholars. These help local specialists learn advanced methods, policy approaches and emerging global trends.

  • Round-table discussions with policymakers, academia and international development organizations. These sessions identify priority research questions of national importance.

  • Joint research projects on Uzbekistan’s policy priorities.

  • Research papers and policy briefs that meet international publication standards. Uzbek and international experts produce them together.

  • Putting research findings into practice through ongoing work with government institutions.

The partnership brings together the World Bank’s international expertise and GSBE’s academic and practical strengths. It creates a space for dialogue between researchers and government, so that research directly supports Uzbekistan’s economic development.
